Guard-n-Tip of the Week!

It's that time of year to grow wonderful herbs, fruits and vegetables in your garden! Keep your Basil plants looking healthy and hearty by watching for flower buds. These flower buds are a sign that your Basil plants is going into a reproductive stage.

The leaves will soon become smaller in size and a brighter green. As a result, the taste of the Basil leaves will become light in taste and more bitter.

To prevent this from happening, snip the flowers off of your Basil plants. The leaves will then remain larger in size and darker in color. You will be able to recognize the distinct rich flavor of your Basil leaves.

Perfect when served with fresh mozzarella, tomatoes and balsamic vinegar!
